SCHOOL WORKSHOPS
We have 10+ years experience delivering accessible and engaging pottery workshops to schools and special needs groups across the West Midlands. Our sessions provide children of all ages and abilities with the chance to experiment, explore creativity, and develop new skills.
Clay is a wonderfully flexible medium that can be easily incorporated into curriculum-based learning or fun, hands-on activities. We tailor workshops to suit your class requirements. Some popular past projects include:
Collaborative sculptures & tile projects
Greek theatre masks
Ancient dwellings
Egyptian canopic jars
The possibilities are endless! Depending on the theme, children will hand-build their own clay creation using slabbing, coiling or pinch-pot techniques.
For an additional hands-on experience, portable potter’s wheels can be brought along, giving children the opportunity to take turns at throwing a pot. One of our skilled potters will deliver a demonstration, showcasing the fascinating process of shaping clay on the wheel.
The children’s masterpieces will then be carefully dried and kiln-fired at our studio. Completed works will be ready for collection or delivery approximately two weeks after the workshop and can be painted in school as a further rewarding and creative activity.

TESTIMONIALS
"It has been brilliant to have been able to have visited Honeybourne Pottery for the past three years with my Y6 pupils. We have always received such a fantastic welcome and it is a wonderful opportunity for the children to experience first-hand what it is like to work in an artists' studio. The expertise on offer from Annabel and Alan is second-to-none and the children are able to produce work of the highest quality. We have linked our work to our topic on Ancient Greece and have thrown pots as well as creating theatre masks. I have been impressed by the value for money from our visit, but most importantly, the overall experience for the children. They are still talking about it now!"
